Course Overview

The course focuses on intellectual underpinning which enhances the understanding of the task of design and its relationship to business and the professional industry. This course considers three primary fields of practice: communication design, interactive design and product design.

Students will adopt a reflective, analytical and evaluative approach towards design to have a greater understanding of the dynamic relationships between design, industry and the commercial sector.

The study plan assimilates the work reality of the field while looking to provide students with artistic, academic and entrepreneurial advanced and specialised knowledge to enable them to hold a consolidated career in the future.

Students are taught by a qualified, experienced, distinguished faculty made up of teachers with an academic background and professional practice.

The potential employment destinations for graduates are mainly advertising (art directors, producers or designers), visual design – communication, graphic and interactive design (designers, producers, team leaders, art directors or creative directors) – and product design agencies (designers, producers, team leaders or creative directors), as well as self-employment (playing all the aforementioned roles).

Foreseeable future conditions in the marketplace point towards a significant growth in free-lance employment, even when designers are integrated in agencies, companies or specific project teams.
