Who is this Bachelor's for?

Our Bachelor’s degree in Design is aimed at Students, Professionals, Artists or Freelancers with ambition or an established career in Advertising (Art Directors, Producers or Designers), Visual Design, Communication Design, Graphic Design and Interactive Design (Designers, Producers, TeamLeaders, Art Directors or Creative Directors). After successful completion, students will have the opportunity to work in areas such as Visual Communication Agencies (Advertising, Design) Product Design, Communication Design, and Interactive Design.

Course Overview

INTRODUCTION
Our BA in Design will equip you with the skills and knowledge to find new solutions for global issues in Design. Our course plan has been devised through a strategic decision to align academic disciplines with professional specialisations in global markets.

LEARNING SKILLS
The course prepares professionals for several Design areas, offering an advanced and comprehensive higher education, coordinated and supported by the latest developments in the scientific and technological fields.

TEACHING STAFF
Our teaching staff are composed of qualified, experienced teachers who are experts in their field. Besides holding a Doctorate level academic degree, they have well-established professional careers, bringing together their academic expertise and knowledge of the job market.

TUTOR CENTRE
LSDM’s students are supervised on a weekly basis through a Tutor Centre composed of a team of specialised tutors in Design, with Master’s degrees and several years of proven experience. Our Tutor Centre is also available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

PROFESSIONAL OUTCOMES
Our Bachelor’s degree in Design is aimed at students, professionals, artists or freelancers with ambition or an established career in advertising (art directors, producers or designers), visual design, communication design, graphic design and interactive design (designers, producers, team leaders, art directors or creative directors). Our BA in Design is 100% online, designed for flexible learning , without a fixed timetable. In other words, LSDM’s students can define when or where they can access our contents. Only final assignments and specific presentations will be scheduled in a fixed timetable.

In about 27 months, LSDM’s students will have completed our BA in Design accredited by the University for the Creative Arts, one of the top specialized universities in the creative industries in the UK.


Teaching and learning methods used in this course:

  • Taught in English, Spanish and Portuguese;
  • Course with 3 stages and a total of 26 curricular units;
  • The unit’s content is asynchronous and organised by weekly topics;
  • 24hr access to the content whenever and wherever you want;
  • Our Tutor Centre functions as a support and interaction tool for our students;
  • Online resources (such as lectures, seminars and discussions, tutorials and feedback sessions, forums, online discussion groups and practical exercises).

Entry Requirements

Candidates can apply for a Bachelor’s Degree in Design through the following pathways:

VIA SECONDARY EDUCATION
Applicants must have successfully completed Secondary Education in their country of origin attested by a legally issued certificate.

VIA PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have relevant and recent professional experience in the Design industry or a closely related field. You will need to provide a portfolio showcasing your training and projects undertaken. Please contact our Academic Advisors for more information.

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS can also apply. Will be carried out an analysis between the student and the responsible for the LSDM’s student support about the specific needs of each case.

Language Certificates

For non-native students who wish to attend the course in a different language other than their native language, a recognised certificate of proficiency must be provided:

English
IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each of the four components. Learn more here.
