Mi Aula Viva: Design of an interactive tool to support pre-school education in digital environments

The Covid-19 health pandemic caused the education of children around the world to be affected by prevention measures that restrict mobility. Educational establishments and teachers made the effort to adapt to continue with classes online through technological tools for learning and communication (TACs), encountering many problems in the process. Some of these are the lack of training in digital skills, connectivity, the difficulty in implementing existing tools, and the change in people’s priorities and needs. Among all segments, preschool education was the most affected, since, since it was not compulsory in many countries, it had a high dropout rate. 

After evaluating multiple educational applications, relevant results are collected for the development of a tool that seeks to be intuitive, customizable and meet the standards of the actors involved. 

This work deals with the ideation and design process of an interactive visual support tool for the work of early childhood educators in digital media. Using research methodologies that allow the triangulation of information and approaches for critical design analysis, it seeks to contribute to effective and guided learning through the construction of didactic material in digital media.
