The Importance of the Authorial Creative Process in Typographic Design

DIGITAL 50 – EXPERIMENTAL NEO-GROTESQUE TYPOGRAPHY

Human evolution is characterized by the form of communication acquired through language.
Since the times of Altamira or Chauvet, Man has had the need to express himself, whether through paintings or further on through symbols, and hieroglyphics until we reach the letters, it is communication through language that has made Humanity reach the days current.

Thus, the importance of communication for social relations is undeniable and this is done, at this moment in history, through letters, sounds and writings, characterized by typography.

Typography is the means by which Man managed to catalogue communication for its easy repercussion and dissemination. Typography dominates the world in all its aspects and dictates how we relate to ourselves and how we relate to our surroundings. Since its historical evolution and construction, typography has been changing over time, until it reaches the digital-virtual context in which we currently live.

As an indispensable subject in the world of Design, the study of this component and its evolution, with a look at typography without a neo-grotesque serif, especially Helvetica typography, is valid, pertinent and justifies the creation of this project.
